These In-Laws Are Furious After Homemade Edibles Got Them Too High & Reddit Doesn't Have Much Sympathy

I thought it was common knowledge that today’s weed is very different than the cannabis products of the yonder years. I guess I was wrong: One Reddit user’s in-laws decided to sample some of his “pretty strong” homemade edibles, and they’re pissed about getting way too high after they took four times the serving he recommended.

Writing in the infamous /AmITheAsshole Subreddit, user @AdTrue2705 provided this context: His in-laws are always regaling him and his wife with “stories about when they were young,” such as when they went to Lollapalooza and Burning Man “before it got all commercial.”

“I like hearing their ‘good old days’ stories,” he shared. “They are amusing. My favorite is how my father-in-law missed seeing Nirvana in some dive bar because he never heard of them.”

@AdTrue2705’s in-laws are no stranger to cannabis products, so when they got word of his homemade edibles, they were intrigued. The Redditor described his weed-infused fudge as “pretty strong”: “My edibles should carry a warning label, ‘Don’t make any fucking plans for a while.’ We don’t have kids yet, so I’m okay just leaving them out with a warning sign for my wife.”

Usually, he recommends that people eat one-fourth of a piece of fudge. That’s how much his wife takes because “it’s enough to have a great night but still be able to function the next day.” But his in-laws didn’t listen.

“My in-laws decided they were old-school cool, and I was shining them on,” he recalled. “They each took a full piece. That was Friday night. They didn’t move from the couch until Saturday afternoon.”
