Luke Perry's Kids Sophie & Jack Post Touching Tributes on His 53rd Birthday
We’re still not over the loss of actor Luke Perry — our forever boyfriend, Dylan McKay — who died unexpectedly on March 4, 2019 from a stroke. And judging from the recent social media posts of his children, Sophie and Jack Perry, they’re missing their dad fiercely too. The siblings both took to Instagram to honor their late father on the occasion of what would have been his 53rd birthday: October 11.
Sophie posted two pics of her hugging her famous 90210 heartthrob dad, captioned, “Happy birthday, fashion icon… I can hear you doing your best Tim Gunn impersonation now… love you the most.” The second pic reveals that her dad was sporting a pair of plaid shorts with his blazer.
Sophie’s brother, Jack, a wrestler, posted a collage of Perry, with the caption, “Happy birthday, old man. I’ll see you somewhere [heart emoji]”
Perry shared custody of Sophie and Jack with his ex, Rachel Sharp. At the time of his massive stroke in late February 2019, he was working on the teen drama hit CW TV show Riverdale, as Fred Andrews, the father of Archie Andrews.
By all accounts, Sophie and Jack were quite close to their father. After Perry’s unexpected passing, Sophie posted to her Instagram account a very overwhelmed but grateful note to friends and followers for the condolences: “A lot has happened in this past week for me. Everything is happening so fast. I made it back from Malawi just in time to be here with my family. And in the past 24 hours I have received an overwhelming amount of love and support. I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them, and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I. I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye. So bear with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.”

And she even opened a preschool in Malawi — and named it after her dad. We can’t even deal.
Our hearts are with Sophie and Jack — Luke Perry definitely left all of us too soon.
