Kate Middleton Broke Royal Protocol for Her Kids in the Exact Same Way Princess Diana Did
Seriously, we’re getting déjà vu from this instance where Kate Middleton broke royal protocol. Now, breaking royal protocol for her children isn’t something new to the Princess of Wales. In fact, she’s done multiple things out of the royal norm for her three children, like sending them to a different school, hiring only one part-time nanny, and more. But this new instance has instantly reminded us of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana.
In case you missed it, Kate was on Mike Tindall’s podcast entitled The Good, The Bad and The Rugby in early Sept 2023. She revealed quite a bit about her and Prince William’s children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. But the biggest shock was that she revealed she ran barefoot in a school-sanctioned parents’ race for her kids, per the Sun.
WINDSOR, ENGLAND – SEPTEMBER 06: Mike Tindall, Princess Anne, Princess Royal, Prince William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales attend the recording of a special episode of The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast, in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle, on September 06, 2023 in Windsor, England. The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast included TRH The Prince and Princess of Wales, and The Princess Royal, in their respective roles as Patrons of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU), to mark the start of the Rugby World Cup. When asked if she would ever take part in a sports day race, she revealed she definitely has! “There are lots of schools that have banned parents’ races because it has become far too competitive,” she said. “We were told categorically there was no parents’ race. But then they called a last-minute parents’ race, and me with the competitive side, both of us were like … we have to take part.”
She added, “So I had to do it in bare feet.”
And this fact has fans instantly comparing her to Diana yet again, because Diana was in hot water. Diana frequently participated in school events with the other moms to show how fun the royal family could be. And one of the most iconic times was when she, you guessed it, did a barefoot race with the other parents.
