Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick Are Still Managing to Co-Parent Through Nanny Disaster

It all began with a nanny and a scratch. The nanny quit, but the story just won’t: Kourtney Kardashian and co-parent Scott Disick are still fielding comments, questions and downright judgment from all sides regarding their daughter Penelope, 7, who allegedly had a fit of rage so bad, she lashed out at her nanny, who decided no amount of Kardashian money could entice her to stick around to take unicorn glitter manicures to the face on the regular. (To the nanny: When you figure out how to get around all the non-disclosure clauses in your contract, we’re totes buying your book, not gonna lie.)

The nasty zillionaire-kids-will-be-zillionaire-kids incident came to light on a recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, after Kourtney admitted Penelope’s nanny had left (and that she had smacked her own nannies when she was a child). When momager Kris Jenner’s boyfriend, Corey Gamble, said if Penelope ever scratched him, he’d spank her, it elicited horror from Scott Disick — and a mix of #TeamScott/#TeamCorey reactions flooding Twitter.

Kourtney Kardashian admitted via tweet that watching the episode caused her quite a bit of “anxiety.” She responded to a fan who encouraged her, “Don’t let anyone teach you how to be a mommy!” by saying simply, “Exactly,” then adding a bit later that Corey’s remarks about Penelope were “NOT OK with me and never will be.”

Welp, that’s all well and good, Kourtney, and we know your sister Kim has your back. But if you go by Twitter (and who doesn’t go by Twitter, tbh) there are a lot of folks who believe that wild child Penelope is overdue for SOME sort of discipline, even if it’s not spanking:

Parenting is tough enough when you’re together, but considering Kourtney and Scott are split, the ex-couple is navigating this trying time remarkably well as co-parents — especially since Penelope’s not the only one of their kids acting up recently. Mason, their elder son, just tried to start a fight at school.

Kourtney’s reaction? Predictably… lukewarm? “There was an incident at school and… you know, I just think it’s normal kid stuff.” Because the principal of Mason’s school told Kourtney her son was willing to write an apology to the other child, Kourtney softened and decided to let Mason keep a playdate.

Scott disagreed in a phone call on the show, saying, “He asked the kid if he wanted to fight him. No chance you should be at a sleepover.”

Then Disick shared in a confessional with a KUWTK cam, “You know, I got in a lot of trouble [as a kid] and I didn’t really have consequences after. And that was one of the things that I wanted to change when I had kids, basically.”

Well, hey: They’re talking, they’re having hard conversations. We’re hoping Kourtney will take a lesson from her ex’s playbook when it comes to wanting the kids to have real consequences for their actions.

In the meantime, we admit it: We’ll be watching and gobbling popcorn with the rest of the masses, screeching OH NO SHE/HE/THEY DID NOT.
