Arie Luyendyk Jr. Defends Lauren Bunrham After She Leaves Infant at Home
Back off! Arie Luyendyk Jr. stuck up for Lauren Burnham after she left their 1-week-old daughter, Alessi, at home.
“To all the negative comments regarding leaving her with grandma for a 45min lunch, cut her some slack!” the former Bachelor commented on his wife’s Wednesday, June 5, Instagram post. “It was my idea because she has been working so hard to keep up and quite frankly I commend her for 1. Being an incredible mom and getting the breast-feeding down enough to make sure she had enough while she was at lunch. (Moms know that breast-feeding can be difficult) and 2. So much of being a good parent is making sure you take care of yourself.”

The Bachelorette alum added: “She wanted a healthy meal with her sister who is in town. I get so frustrated at the comments because she is such a kind soul and takes these comments to heart. Be kind people! … You’re doing great momma.”
In the social media upload, Burnham and her sister, Heather Burnham, hugged in front of a mural. “First time out of the house without Alessi and I only cried one time,” the ABC personality captioned the sibling shot. “I’d say it’s a win.”
While fellow Bachelor Nation members Desiree Siegfried and Bekah Martinez had supportive things to say to the new mom, other Instagram users bashed Lauren. “Wow you left her faster than anyone I know,” one wrote. “Must of [sic] been for a good occasion.”
The Virginia native and her husband welcomed their baby girl on May 29. “We have a healthy, BEAUTIFUL baby girl 6lbs, 13oz 20cm long,” the new dad wrote on his Instagram Story at the time. “Mommy and baby are doing great, we are so incredibly happy.”
Lauren added: “She is sweet, calm and @ariejr and I could not be more in love with her.”
Us Weekly broke the news in November 2018 that the couple were expecting their first child together. They tied the knot in Maui, Hawaii, two months later.
