Serena Williams' Wimbledon Outfit Has A Hidden Meaning

Although Serena Williams doesn’t mince her words when it comes to making a point, the tennis star sometimes lets her clothes do the talking instead (remember this clap back at French Open officials?).

And the 37-year-old’s Wimbledon outfit is no different.

It might seem like there’s nothing much to Serena’s all-white ensemble – complete with side cut outs and chic pleats – but upon closer inspection you’ll notice a subtle and sentimental detail.

The mum-of-one is wearing Nike’s debut ‘Broosh’ – the famous Swoosh logo coated in Swarovski crystals (so a cross between brooch and Swoosh). Zoom in even further and you’ll be able to count the exact amount of Swarovski crystals adorning the piece – 34, according to Harper’s BAZAAR.

That precise number is a tribute to the age Serena was when she won her most recent London Slam at Wimbledon in 2016.

“I wanted her to feel like it was something her grandmother could have worn but of course give it a modern spin and make it just right for Serena,” Abby Swancutt, global design director for NikeCourt, said in an official statement.

Just stunning.
