How to lose visceral fat – the very best type of exercise to get rid of your belly fat

Visceral fat can be extremely harmful in large quantities, and it raises your chances of developing a number of conditions. But, doing resistance exercises may help to get rid of your belly fat.

Visceral fat is more commonly known as belly fat, and it tends to wrap around your internal organs.

It’s considered a serious health problem to be carrying too much visceral fat.

That’s because the fat cells produce inflammatory markers and hormones, that increases the risk of chronic diseases.

One of the best ways to get rid of your belly fat is to do resistance training, it’s been claimed.

Doing regular exercise is one of the easiest ways to target your visceral fat.

It’s crucial that everyone manages to do at least half an hour of activity every day, warned Bupa.

The best way to lose weight and stay healthy is to combine cardiovascular exercise with resistance training.

But, resistance training is the specific type of activity that reduces the fat around your stomach, it said.

“While anyone can have this type of deep visceral fat around their inner organs, it’s important that you make some changes to get your body into a healthier place,” said Bupa Cromwell Hospital’s senior specialist dietitian, Maya Aboukhater.

“Use every opportunity to become fit whether you are at home, at work or with friends.

“Combining resistance [strength] exercise and cardiovascular exercise is ideal. Resistance exercises are a great way of helping you to maintain your muscle mass and your glucose metabolism [the way your body processes sugar and uses it for fuel], which are important for managing your weight.

“Resistance training has also been shown to reduce fat around your tummy area.”

Meanwhile, endurance exercises have also been claimed to reduce visceral fat.

These types of activity help to raise your heart rate, which forces the body to use energy.

The body subsequently uses fat as a way to fuel your exercise, starting with excess visceral fat around your organs.

The best types of endurance exercises include swimming, rowing, jogging and cycling.

Visceral fat starts to cause health problems straight away.

It increases your risk of developing serious, long-term life-threatening medical conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, and strokes.

You should consider speaking to a doctor if your waist is more than 40 inches for men, or 35 inches for women.
