A Beginner's Dance Workout That'll Get Your Endorphins Flowing

The beauty of dance workouts is that you can do them anywhere as they usually don’t require any special home gym equipment. Plus, they’re scalable no matter what level of dancer you consider yourself. But if you do place yourself into the ‘beginner’ category, not to worry – we’ve got your back.

Dance workouts (and especially dance home workouts) are a brilliant way for beginners to get their confidence up, learn some new moves and shake off self-consciousness. It can take a while to get into the groove of a dance class but remember, everyone will be at a different level and as long as you’re having fun, how technically good you are doesn’t really matter.

One person that swears by dance workouts is none other than Caleb Marshall – better known as the Fitness Marshall on Youtube – who dedicates his channel to fun workouts that will get even the most shy person moving around.

“Dance and music are so powerful. They stimulate a part of our brains that is truly magical. It’s an experience that connects all people. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, or how well you dance. All of us have the ability to connect to a rhythm and release that energy through movement. I’ve done every workout under the sun and nothing brings me the JOY that I feel doing The Fitness Marshall dances,” he tells Women’s Health.

“It doesn’t matter how much dance experience you have. All that matters is that you give yourself permission to be as silly, free, and uninhibited as possible,” he adds. “If you’re moving, you’re doing it right. I cannot count the number times I mess up in a class. I laugh at myself and keep going.”

To get us in the mood, Caleb has created a simple beginners dance workout for you to follow from the comfort of your home. Our advice? Grab your closest mates and get the laughter flowing. Enjoy.
