That's Amore! Mom Uses Pizza to Mark Her Son's Monthly Age Milestones – See the Creative Photos
One mom has taken her appreciation for her Italian heritage to a delicious — and adorable — new level.
Dani Giannandrea, who works as a photographer in Maryland, got creative in her take on the “monthly photos” trend that has swept across social media in the past few years, using her family’s favorite meal: pizza.
In the photos shared on social media, Giannandrea’s baby boy Lorenzo posed in a pizza box every month over the course of his first year of life, starting with one slice that eventually became an entire pie. (With different toppings each month, because why not?)
“His grandma said that I have to do something as an ode to his name and his Italian heritage, and I totally agreed,” Giannandrea told Good Morning America in an interview published Tuesday.

Giannandrea — who joked to GMA that people who wish to recreate the shoot should “invest in a good pizza cutter” — said she used pizza varieties like pineapple, white, pesto and meat lovers’ in the photographs.
And none of that food went to waste!
“I said, ‘If we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it right and where we can get dinner out of it every month,’ ” Giannandrea explained to GMA. “We have pizza more than once a month.”
The mother of two shared the 12-photo collage to Facebook on Saturday, joking in the caption, “My little baby Lorenzo is breaking the internet today.”
The post has since garnered over 1,600 likes, 700 comments and almost 1,700 shares, with users commending Giannandrea for her unique spin on the photographic fad.
“Ridiculously cute! Creative! LOVE IT!!!” wrote one while a second mused, impressed, “This is so brilliant! I can’t believe he not trying to eat the pizza in any of them or was this a composite lol.”
