From Balmain to Balenciaga: 18 of North West's Most Memorable (Sometimes Custom-Made!) Outfits
For the KarJenner family’s annual Christmas Eve shindig in 2018, 5½-year-old North debuted a bold red lip and all-black outfit with fringe detailing.
“She picked it though! It’s a special occasion!” Kim, 38, tweeted of her oldest child’s lipstick choice.
On her Instagram story, Kim showed North getting her hair brushed in a bright-orange dress, bold matching eyeliner and white sneakers ahead of dad Kanye West’s Saturday Night Live performance in September 2017.
And North got the full glam-squad treatment. “She’s coming for me and stealing my glam squad,” the proud mom captioned a picture of her daughter in the makeup chair.
North donned a variety of outfits for her modeling debut alongside Kim and grandmother Kris Jenner in June 2018, to front Fendi’s #MeandMyPeekaboo campaign in honor of the 10th anniversary launch of the brand’s iconic Peekaboo bag.
The three generations of KarJenner ladies posed in candid and spontaneous shots taken in Los Angeles that captured the intimate, personal side of their family.
Two months after North booked her first modeling campaign alongside her famous family members, she made her runway debut as Thrilla during the L.O.L. Surprise Fashion Show in September 2018.
The little girl rocked a Michael Jackson-inspired look: a red jacket with a matching skirt alongside a black zip-up top, white socks and black shoes.
Kim gave her Snapchat followers a sneak peek of her and West’s TheKidsSupply collection in February 2017, sharing a clip of a 3½-year-old North modeling some of the bright yellow-pieces: a sequined dress and matching shearling coat.
“Northie picked out the colors and the fabric,” the reality star could be heard saying in a video.
North and Kim goofed off together on social media, with the reality star’s mini-me donning a stylish denim jacket for the pair’s fun session with filters.
At the age of 3, North had already inherited her mom’s proclivity toward daring footwear.
The then-toddler slipped into Kim’s $1,700 thigh-high Balenciaga boots in August 2016 — an adorable fashion-stealing moment caught on camera.
“Didn’t think it would happen this soon … my baby girl stealing my shoes,” Kim wrote. “At least she has good taste #Balenciaga.”
At West’s Yeezy Season 3 fashion show in February 2016, North wore a white fur coat to match her mom, a choker necklace and Yeezy hoodie.
Matching with Mommy always looks adorable! Kim and North’s nude wear flattered both mom and daughter, while the then-2-year-old’s ever-expanding combat-boot collection continued to set up her siblings (and us) for intense shoe envy.
At 2 years old, North had already become Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing’s muse — hence why the runway whiz had custom-made jackets that the toddler could wear.
The couple’s son on the way will seriously have to up the cuteness ante to top the nautical coat his big sis wore along with her signature ballet slippers on Fourth of July 2015.
Sometimes North opts to look more Kanye than Kim. The youngster stole a chunky gold necklace from Daddy’s closet (that was just slightly too big), and paired it with a Kanye-esque oversized tank.
Nori liked it so much that she finally got her own mini version. Let’s hope her brother gets the memo about drawing inspiration from Mom and Dad’s styles.
North’s first fashion lesson for her siblings? Always wear the designer’s clothes when your heading to his or her show.
Luckily, Alexander Wang was kind enough to hook the young fashionista up with a custom outfit for her appearance at his New York Fashion Week show in February 2015.
Like any toddler, North had to be ready to grace front-row fashion show seats in between typical toddler friends like Anna Wintour and Beyoncé.
And of course designer daddy Kanye made sure she had the cutest bulletproof vest around for his February 2015 New York Fashion Week show.
Nori added a pop of color with green leg warmers for the event.
No one knows how to make cold weather cozy as heart-achingly adorable as North. We don’t know if her new little brother can possibly do winter glamour as flawlessly, but we can’t wait to see him try later in the year after his spring birth.
The oldest West child might just be the authority on children’s ballet class fashion. Her tutu ensembles — which were usually topped with a custom Balmain jacket, of course — looked chicer than the threads most people wear to work.
The Wests’ newest addition will have some hefty style standards to live up to whether he heads to dance rehearsal or soccer practice.

A cuddle-worthy black coat and squeal-inducing Charlotte Olympia cat loafers are just the things to turn heads on the playground.
The Kardashian-Wests are all about matching, so when it was time to make an appearance at the Givenchy show in Paris in September 2014, Mom and her mini-me opted for coordinated sheer looks.
North’s dress was a custom Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci design, complemented by combat boots with bright white laces.
At just 3 months old, North was gifted several outfits during Paris Fashion Week — including a leather dress from Alexander Wang, a mini white lab coat from Maison Martin Margiela, a custom Bambi tee from Givenchy and cozy menswear-style sweaters and snakeskin slip-ons from Céline.
The designers even added sweet handwritten welcome notes for the little girl.
