“Good Life” indeed — Kehlani is a mother! The R&B star, 23, gave birth to her first child, a baby girl named Adeya Nomi.
“This weekend our angel arrived earthside perfectly healthy & full of wonder,” she tweeted on Monday, March 25. “Unmedicated homebirth was indescribable. taking time to be family and heal. thank you everyone who sent us love and support on her journey earthside!”

The “Distraction” singer announced her pregnancy in October 2018 via a now-deleted Instagram post. “I’ve always been very open with you all about my personal adventures & accomplishments… this was the HARDEST to hide,” she wrote at the time. “If you know me, you know i’ve dreamt about motherhood since i was very young. when asked what my goals are, it’s always the idea of a big healthy happy family & whatever comes along is a plus.”
In the post, Kehlani said she felt “so honored to be given this gift by spirit, creator, and an amazing partner whom i trust with my body and life.” She opted not to name the father of her baby at the time, but she did tweet that he is “the only man on earth i trust.” She later revealed on Nicki Minaj’s Queen radio show that the dad is her guitarist, Javie Young-White.
That November, the Grammy nominee offered an update on her pregnancy. “Been hesitant to be all preggo on instagram because it seems to invoke some kind of crazy negativity in a lot of people and i want to protect mine and her energy alike,” she wrote alongside Instagram photos of herself cradling her baby bump.
“We are so healthy, happy, and abundant tho! we are more present than i have ever been alone, more strong than i have ever been on my own,” she added. “6 months and i feel like time is flying. this is my most favorite journey i have ever embarked on, the greatest path i have ever taken.”
