I have never shared what my body looks like with no clothes on, but I wanted to share with you what I looked like 10 months ago and the progress I’ve made since April 2018. I went off #sugar #coldturkey in Mar 2018 and starred #keto appx June/July 2018. My weight last year I believe was 189 (too tired to look for the scale pics?) and now I go back and forth between 159-161lbs. My waistline was 47” and it is now 35” (Lord on my wishlist is 29” waist … 27” if you’re in a good mood???) just want to encourage you to take one step towards your health… then another… then another… small changes everyday (more water… more sleep… exercise… meditation… prayer… forgiveness… less sugar… less carbs…) yield big #results in one year. I am really putting my fat belly out there for ridicule but I am passionate about wanting YOU to feel better… find your purpose and get past fear. I want so much for you to experience #freedom … to get your #joy back… to feel #confidence that you can Conquer the world! If I can do it YOU can too! Love you ♥️?? (for some great #keto mentors who helped me tremendously follow @blackketogirl & @keto365transformation ) #sherrishepherd #singlemom o#teamhealthy #workinghard #committoyourself #grateful #cometoofartogiveupnow #isthatanab over 350 days no #sugar

Her tip for getting into the keto lifestyle is simple. “Who is going to be devastated if you’re not here? Who are you living for?” she shared with Us. “For me, I had a 13-year-old son. And I refuse to let my ex-husband’s side chick raise my child. It’s not happening.”

Her own mother’s death affected the 51-year-old’s decision to turn her health around and slim down. “My mom passed away at 41,” she continued. “I owe it to my mother, to honor her. I owe it to my son to be here healthy and happy. I still have to raise my child. Mo’Nique, the comic, said one time, ‘You would die for the people you love. What people would you live for?’”

Shepherd previously told Us giving up sugar was hard Opens a New Window. . “When I first started, I [cheated],” she said in December. But the actress, who also began going to the gym, developed plenty of tricks. She revealed that when she is tempted by a treat, “I do a lot of self-talk of, ‘Sherri, how are you going to feel? Do you want the emotion of already feeling bad with whatever you’re going through?’”

Now when people look to her for advice, says Shepherd, she recommends taking the diet and weight loss journey slowly so they don’t get discouraged or feel overwhelmed: “I say, ‘One step at a time. Little changes — look up in a year, big results.’”
